Fancy working from home in a treehouse?
If you thought working at home meant beavering away in a spare room, forget it. Today’s self-employed are investing in garden offices, from treehouses and shepherd’s huts to pod.
...There is also increasing demand for more bespoke workspaces.
“Every homeworker is different,” explains Surrey-based Mark Burton,
who writes for shedworking.co.uk, a website aimed at people working from home.
Burton’s own company, Custom Built in Surrey, produces a wide range of bespoke garden offices. “My recent clients range from a graphic designer who wanted as much natural light as possible in her office, to a golf professional who wanted to install hi-tech equipment for analysing people’s golf swings.”
An offshoot of Burton's company, Tiny Houses on Wheels, is concentrating on micro-homes in which people can work, sleep and play.
